A rose flower distillation plant is a specialized facility designed to extract essential oil and floral water from fresh rose petals, typically from Rosa damascena (Damask rose). Known for its luxurious, sweet aroma and powerful therapeutic properties, rose essential oil—also called rose otto—is widely used in perfumery, cosmetics, skincare, and aromatherapy.
The distillation process primarily involves hydro-distillation or steam distillation, where freshly harvested rose petals are placed into distillation units and gently heated with water or steam. The vaporized aromatic compounds are condensed and collected, allowing the essential oil to separate from the floral water (rose hydrosol). The oil is then filtered and stored in airtight containers to maintain its purity and fragrance.
Modern rose distillation plants are equipped with temperature-controlled boilers, stainless steel or traditional copper stills, condensers, and oil separators. The essential oil contains key aromatic compounds such as citronellol, geraniol, and phenyl ethyl alcohol, which contribute to its deep floral scent and skin-soothing benefits. The facility follows strict hygiene and quality standards to ensure the production of premium-grade rose oil suitable for luxury cosmetic, wellness, and therapeutic applications.
