A Cassia (bark) oil distillation plant is a specialized facility designed to extract essential oil from the bark of Cinnamomum cassia, commonly known as cassia or Chinese cinnamon. Cassia bark oil is valued for its warm, sweet, and spicy aroma and is widely used in perfumery, flavoring, and traditional medicine due to its antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory properties.
The extraction process primarily utilizes steam distillation. The dried cassia bark is cleaned, chipped or crushed, and loaded into a stainless steel distillation chamber. Steam passes through the bark under controlled temperature and pressure, vaporizing the essential oil. The steam and oil vapors then enter a condenser where they cool and separate into essential oil and hydrosol. The collected oil is filtered and stored in airtight containers to maintain its quality and fragrance.
Modern cassia bark oil distillation plants are equipped with efficient boilers, stainless steel distillation units, condensers, oil separators, and automated temperature and pressure controls to ensure maximum oil yield and high purity. The essential oil contains key components such as cinnamaldehyde, eugenol, and cinnamic acid, contributing to its characteristic aroma and therapeutic effects. The plant design follows strict hygiene and safety standards to produce oil suitable for food, pharmaceutical, and cosmetic industries.
