Welcome to Best Engineering Technologies
The Atlas Cedarwood Distillation Plant, located in the Middle Atlas Mountains of Morocco, specializes in producing essential oil from Cedrus atlantica, commonly known as Atlas cedar. This tree, native to the region, is renowned for its towering presence and aromatic wood. The distillation process involves steam distilling wood chips and sawdust, often sourced from the furniture and handicraft industries. Approximately 40 kg of wood material is required to yield 1 kg of essential oil .
The essential oil extracted is characterized by its woody, balsamic, and slightly leathery aroma, attributed to compounds like α-atlantone and various himachalenes . This oil is highly valued in perfumery for its grounding and fixative properties, blending well with other woody notes such as patchouli and vetiver.
