Boronia (Flowers / Petals / Buds) Oil Extraction Plant

A Boronia oil extraction plant is a specialized facility designed to extract essential oil from the delicate flowers, petals, and buds of Boronia megastigma, an Australian native plant highly valued for its rich, sweet, and floral fragrance. Boronia oil is prized in the perfume industry and aromatherapy for its unique scent and calming properties.

The extraction process commonly uses solvent extraction or CO₂ extraction rather than steam distillation, due to the delicate nature of Boronia flowers which can be damaged by high heat. In solvent extraction, fresh Boronia flowers, petals, and buds are carefully harvested and treated with food-grade solvents to dissolve the aromatic compounds. Afterward, the solvent is evaporated, leaving behind a concentrated, aromatic absolute or concrete. In CO₂ extraction, carbon dioxide under high pressure and low temperature acts as the solvent, preserving the oil’s delicate fragrance.

Modern Boronia oil extraction plants are equipped with advanced extraction units, solvent recovery systems, cold storage facilities, and filtration equipment to ensure high-quality oil yield while preserving the flower’s natural aroma. The extracted oil contains complex aromatic compounds like monoterpenes and esters, contributing to its distinctive fragrance profile. The plant operates under stringent hygiene and safety standards, producing premium-grade Boronia oil for perfumery, cosmetics, and aromatherapy industries.
